So THAT's how our tax dollars are spent

Depending on our income, we pay from 30% income tax and higher.  From the left-over money we get after the government has taken their share, we also pay tax on each red cent we use to purchase something.  Taxes upon taxes upon taxes upon .....  One of the mysteries of life: where do our taxes go?  I saw something interesting today that might shed some light on that mystery.

According to a private audit, our senate members are shopaholics! With OUR money!! Each Senate member has 16 1st class airline return tickets to use in a year, a $5000 "miscellaneous" expense limit (I'm sure the term 'limit' is used loosely here) in which alcohol also counts as an expense, and those two are just tips of the ice berg!  Apparently they also don't require receipt to submit their expenses, which means they can, and have been claiming all sorts of personal expenses as Senate expenses.  I guess that does make sense; why track your expenses when you have a 81 MILLION DOLLAR operating budget!

Chair of senate committee David Tkachuk says "There has been no evidence of wrongdoing, it is mostly accidents".

They accidentally take a huge chunk of our hard earned income before we even get to see it? They accidentally can spend our money to take their family on vacation at least 16times a year?  They accidentally have a 81 million dollar operating budget?  Hey why not! They are after all hard working tax payers just like us!  Their yearly income start from a measly $130,000.

Let the games begin!

I've always wanted to create a vlog channel, but I have way too many stalkers to attempt that (lol!) so I'm settling for this blog instead.

This is my first ever blog post! Yay me! :) Now granted this time of night (it's almost 2am) I'm not at my most lucid, then again when am I ever? Regardless, I'm really excited to have started this blog.

So what do I plan on talking about? Anything and everything, from makeup to taxes, you name it, I have an opinion on it... lol

I am leaving my comments open, so feel free to leave your two cents and I promise to read through them all. And if there's anything you want to talk about then leave it in the comments and that just might be the subject of the next post.

Anyway, enough rambling for one night, I'll leave you with my current favourite quote, until next time..

"There are no facts, only interpretations."
- Friedrich Nietzsche (1844-1900)
